East Central College Library has a variety of electronic devices available for check-out at Union campus. Our electronic devices are restricted to current ECC students, staff and faculty. A valid college ID is required for check out and library account must be in good standing. Due to limited inventory and high demand each device accrues a $5.00 a day late fee. Kindle: 3 readers and 3 Fires are available for 4 week check out. Each Kindle has over 60 titles preloaded. USB cord is included, A/C adapter is include with Fires and available for readers. Nook: 2 touch readers, 1 color reader, 1 tablet and 2 HDs are available for 4 week check out. USB cord is included, A/C adapter is included with tablet and HDs and available for readers. IPad: 4 IPad Air 2 are available for 2 day check out. Headphones, USB cord, A/C adapter are included. Screenprotector, case and bag are included. A $5.00 cash deposit is required upon check out. Renewals and Returns: Renewals are not allowed at this time due to limited inventory. Devices come with a variety of accessories. All devices must be returned within 15 minutes of closing time and to Library staff to not accrue a late fine. There is a 24-hour turnaround time for all devices when they are returned.
Fines and Damages: You are responsible for devices and accessories while it’s checked out to you. Devices not returned within 3 business days of the due date will results in a hold being placed on your student account. Devices not returned within allotted time will result in contacting the Union Police to report the item stolen due to non return to the Library.
Assessment of fines and damages
o $5.00 a day late fee, your deposit will be retained and rest can be paid via cash, credit or check to Cashier.
o $900 – replacement fee for Laptop & processing fee ($100)
o $600 – replacement fee for IPad & processing fee ($100)
o $50 each – carry case, power-cord, battery, IPad keyboard
o $10 – mouse, headphones, screen protector
o Damage to device: actual repair costs
