LIB: Copyright & Fair Use

Public performance rights for film

ECC Library generally does not own any films with public performance rights.  Films that are within the guidelines of your curriculum can be shown in face to face class.  For example an Art history course may show, The rape of Europa in their class.

You may also place DVDs on course reserve and limit student check out to 2 days or 2 hours as an option.

You may use clips in Films on Demand subscription in your classroom and links in Canvas.  We have streaming options for student viewing in SWANK, Feature Films for Education, and World Cinema too.

Some Library databases have video clips as well.  Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center and Global Issues in Context are two resources for videos.  You can also embedded clips into Canvas.  For off campus access you will need to include the WAM proxy prefix (in orange highlight) within each permanent link.
An off campus accessible structured clip would look like:   http://0-ic.galegroup.com.archway.searchmobius.org/ic/ovic/VideosDetailsPage/VideosDetailsWindow?displayGroupName=Videos&currPage=1&query=&prodId=OVIC&p=OVIC%3AGIC&mode=view&catId=GALE%7C00000000LVV7&view=docDisplay&total=9&limiter=&contentModules=&displayGroups=&action=e&documentId=GALE%7CCT350768500&sortBy=relevance%2Cdescending&windowstate=normal&source=Bookmark&u=morenetecentral&jsid=4c91c25ca91a593710bebf1399b36343
