International Education Week

It highlights programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the U.S.

International Education Week (IEW), November 15-19, 2021, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences  (https://iew.state.gov/)

Monday - Friday; Virtual Escape Room

Students who complete the Virtual Escape Room can enter in a drawing during International Education Week. 

Winners will have a variety of prizes to choose.

Visit here on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to watch a video of current ECC students talking about their home countries and experiences in the United States.
Then complete the survey and get the password for FREE bowl of soup or dessert from Cafe Central that day.

Tuesday, Nov. 16 online - Soup and Stories

Watch Tuesday’s videos, Albania or Dominican Republic, and complete the survey for a password for free bowl of Broccoli Cheese soup or an international dessert, Classic Nanaimo Bars, from Café Central.  Must be claimed on Tuesday on a first come first serve basis.

Synopsis: Based on the principles of the ancient Chinese healing art of Tai Chi chuan (boxing) and simplified Tai Chi movements, Tai Chi Qigong 18 form consists of 18 gentle yet extremely useful movements. The form provides a holistic health benefits, which can strengthen bone, ligament, and muscle and with added benefits of improving the functions of the cardio-vascular system and digestive tracks. It is a meditation in motion to help practitioners to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. People of all physical conditions can learn this soothing form. Master Violet Li, a 12th Generation Chen Style Tai Chi Inheritor and award-winning journalist, has taught Tai Chi & Qigong to tens of thousands of people around the world including several universities and colleges in the nation. Her teaching is easy to understand and her demonstration is simple to follow. Most importantly, she makes learning the healing art extremely fun.
