LIB: Copyright & Fair Use

Use Licensed Databases Resources in Canvas

You are encouraged to use databases ECC has licensed.   Licensed databases provide access to scholarly journals, electronic books, images, and streaming media, both music and film, that can be safely and legally used in the classroom or placed in Canvas course sites.

In a Canvas course site, use the database provided persistent/permanent link or URL to direct students to each electronic article, image, or streaming media (licenses generally prohibit downloading content onto another server).

For off campus access you will need to include the WAM proxy prefix (in orange highlight) within each permanent link.
An off campus accessible structured clip would look like:   http://0-ic.galegroup.com.archway.searchmobius.org/ic/ovic/VideosDetailsPage/VideosDetailsWindow?displayGroupName=Videos&currPage=1&query=&prodId=OVIC&p=OVIC%3AGIC&mode=view&catId=GALE%7C00000000LVV7&view=docDisplay&total=9&limiter=&contentModules=&displayGroups=&action=e&documentId=GALE%7CCT350768500&sortBy=relevance%2Cdescending&windowstate=normal&source=Bookmark&u=morenetecentral&jsid=4c91c25ca91a593710bebf1399b36343

Please contact Lisa Farrell, Director Library Services, for assistance in creating off campus permanent links for embedded in Canvas or email or check the libguide on Findings and Using Permalinks
